The Oscar winner talks about her upcoming projects

Posted on

EW has learned exclusively that the Oscar winner has joined the indie drama Mister and Pete, in which she’ll play a drug-addicted New York City mother whose arrest forces her son and his best friend to fend for themselves. ”She’ll be a very surprising character,” Hudson says of her part in the film, which will be directed by George Tillman Jr. (Faster) and co-produced by Hudson’s Secret Life of Bees costar Alicia Keys. ”It’s a small role, but it has ranges and layers to it.” Before she shoots this project in August, Hudson will head to Atlanta to play Sister Rosemary in the Farrelly brothers’ update of The Three Stooges, alongside fellow nuns Jane Lynch and Larry David. ”She’s nice,” Hudson says of Sister Rosemary. ”If there was ever a sassy nun, that would be me.”
