Laden death affects Kathryn Bigelow's new movie

Posted on

The recent death of Osama bin Laden will mean changes for the Oscar-winning Hurt Locker team’s next movie. Director Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal had been working on a film version of the book Kill Bin Laden, about the failed 2001 attempt to take out the al-Qaeda leader. The duo hoped to shoot the film this summer with independent financing from Annapurna Pictures. They still plan to move forward, but the script will change to include a much more triumphant (and Hollywood-friendly) ending.
