'Harry Potter' trailers: Looking back, which is your favorite of the franchise?

Posted on

We’re all hoping Warner Bros. has saved the best Harry Potter film for last. Time will tell. But after watching the latest trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, we’re prepared to say that it’s the best preview ever cut for the franchise. But what’s the second best? Below, watch trailers for the first seven films. Then, go to our Facebook page and vote for your favorite.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Teaser trailer: The owls through the Warner Bros. logo is a nice touch.

Trailer: Our first look at beautiful Hogwarts at night and all the magic the school offers. There’s also enough humor to make us think that Dumbledore is joking when he talks about the possibility of suffering a horrible death.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Trailer: It’s all fun and Quidditch games… until Lucius Malfoy says, “Let us hope Mr. Potter will always be around to save the day.” “Don’t worry. I will be.”

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Teaser trailer: “Something wicked this way comes.” In a musical number!

Trailer: Starting with Snape is always good. As is Hermione punching Draco.

International Trailer: Darker, yes, but still time for Hermione to get in a swing and some hand-holding. Plus, the same powerful “Expecto Patronum!” ending.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Teaser trailer: Halfway through the series, and we’re already looking back.

Trailer 1: Hormones! Yule Ball! Triwizard Tournament!

Trailer 2: It’s all about the tournament.

International trailer: Actually, it’s not. It’s also about Voldemort. And Cedric.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Teaser trailer: Harry wants to fight.

International trailer: Dolores Umbridge is almost as terrifying as Lord Voldemort.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Teaser trailer: Young Tom Riddle is the creepiest of all.

International trailer: A lot of plot, but not enough young Tom?

Feature trailer: The raging hormones get more screen time, as they do in the film.

Trailer 3: “This year, evil will pass through from their world into our own. And the darkest hour is upon us all.” A definite contender. There’s no holding back on the dark imagery.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1

Trailer: Combo trailer for Part 1 and Part 2! Unfair? Perhaps.

Theatrical trailer: The Bill Nighy voiceover gives it that war film vibe.
