'Idol' wins Wednesday: 'Sunshine' up, 'Survivor' dips

Posted on

After hitting lows during the first week of Daylight Savings Time, some broadcast shows perked up slightly on Wednesday, led by Fox’s American Idol (23.5 million viewers, 7.7 preliminary adults 18-49 rating).

In second, CBS didn’t receive a boost, however, airing Survivor (10.8 million, 3.0), which was down 6 percent to a series low. At 10 p.m. Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (8.9 million, 2.2) fell 12 percent to a season low — likely due to not having an original Criminal Minds lead-in this week.

ABC’s The Middle (7.3 million, 2.2) took a dip, while Modern Family (10.8 million, 4.3) and Mr. Sunshine (5.9 million, 2.2) rose a healthy 22 percent. At 10 p.m., Off the Map (4.5 million, 1.5) perked up slightly.

NBC had Minute to Win It (4.2 million, 1.2) climbing a bit, and at 10 p.m., an original Law & Order: SVU (8.7 million, 2.6) was up 8 percent.

The CW had America’s Next Top Model (1.6 million, 1.0), and keeps airing Shedding for the Wedding (1.2 million, 0.4).
