Sundance headed to London

Posted on

At a press conference today in London, Robert Redford announced the creation of Sundance London, a four-day festival of independent film and music to be held at London’s O2 Arena from April 26-29, 2012. The event will feature a program of independent films, along with musical performances, classes, and discussion panels. “It is our mutual goal to bring to the UK the very best in current American independent cinema, to introduce the artists responsible for it, and in essence help build a picture of our country that is broadly reflective of the diversity of voices not always seen in our cultural exports,” Redford told reporters at the O2. Redford’s Sundance Institute will supply the fest with a selection of American independent films from the 2012 Sundance Film Festival (which will take place next January in Park City, Utah), while media giant AEG Europe will organize the musical events.
