Writer-director Gregg Araki makes an unwelcome return to the facile sexual-outlaw posing of his ’90s movies, like The Doom Generation. In the acrid college soap opera Kaboom, a bisexual pretty boy (Thomas Dekker) falls into bed with surfers and coeds he has no emotional connection to. It’s like a Bret Easton Ellis fever dream redone as trash TV. But Juno Temple, as a waif vixen, twinkles through the murk. (Also available on cable via on demand) C
