A Los Angeles judge has ruled actress Lindsay Lohan may post bail and leave jail, according to People. The Mean Girls star was taken into custody on Sept. 24 after another judge ordered her back to jail without bail for testing positive for drugs, a violation of the terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 drunken driving conviction. But later in the day, Judge Patricia Schnegg granted a writ of habeas corpus and set bail for $300,000 after Lohan’s attorney filed an appeal. She is due back in court for a hearing on her probation violation on Oct. 22. Lohan spent 23 days in a court-ordered drug rehab program last month, following a 13-day jail stint ordered for a previous probation violation.
UPDATE: Lindsay Lohan posts bail, leaves jail late Friday night in Los Angeles.
