Most recently appearing in label mate Drake’s “Miss Me” video, we knew the incarcerated Lil Wayne shot several clips before entering his Rikers Island cell last spring. So when he phoned into a radio station last month to announce that he’ll be releasing his I Am Not a Human Being EP on his September 27 birthday–before he’s released from jail, I assumed Wayne had at least one video in the can to promote it. And yesterday he proved me right, dropping the video to its rock-hop single “I’m Not Human.”
In the dim video, Wayne shows off a few black light tattoos he got just before the shoot, some puckered lips and stars. “I want everybody to know beforehand, when you see the black light and you see the kiss and the stars, don’t think that I got some s— painted on me. That is a tattoo, he says in some brief behind-the-scenes footage that surfaced online this morning. “These are black light tattoos. The s— hurt… The best thing about the black light tattoo is that when you cut the light on, you can’t see them.”
Are you anxious for Wayne to get out this winter? Looking forward to new music from him? Check out the video after the jump and let us know if you think the added pain Wayne endured was worth it.
