Casey Affleck settles sexual harassment cases

Posted on

Casey Affleck has settled two sexual harassment cases with women who worked on the production of the Joaquin Phoenix documentary he directed, I’m Still Here. Producer Amanda White and cinematographer Magdalena Gorka had both sued the Oscar-nominated actor for at least $2 million each, based on claims of unwanted sexual advances and a hostile workplace, among other outrageous behavior. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the parties agreed to mediate privately a few weeks ago, leading to a resolution that preserved credit for White’s and Gorka’s work on I’m Still Here. “The disputes between Flemmy Productions, LLC and Casey Affleck with Amanda White and Magdalena Gorka in connection with the film I’m Still Here have been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties, and the lawsuits are being dismissed,” according to a joint statement provided by Affleck’s camp. Financial terms were not disclosed.
