'Stand Up to Cancer' celebrity lineup keeps on growing!

Posted on

Sometimes it’s important to press the pause button on whatever trash TV I’m currently consuming to spread some good news about a good cause. And no, this is not a fake-out setup to a post about Tenley being the true villain of this season of Bachelor Pad (even though she is). Today the celebrity lineup for the Stand Up To Cancer primetime telethon — set to air Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. ET — grew exponentially, with the following folks signed on to participate (in alphabetical order, because it’s that sort of gig): Elizabeth Banks, Kathy Bates, Sir Richard Branson, George Carl, George Clooney, Baron Davis, Emily Deschanel, Bill Hader, Dorothy Hamill, Anne Heche, Cheryl Hines, Dr. Jon Lapook, Rob Lowe, Marlee Matlin, Olivia Munn, Lisa Niemi, Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Passmore, Will Smith, Brenda Song, Sam Trammell, Denzel Washington, Aaron Yoo and Renée Zellweger.

The musical lineup for Stand Up to Cancer has grown, too, to include Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Neil Diamond, The Edge, Delta Goodrem, Herbie Hancock, Kris Kristofferson, Lady Antebellum, Leona Lewis, Orianthi, Ann Wilson, and Nancy Wilson.

To get yourself stoked for the big night — which will air for one commercial-free hour on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Current TV, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One and VH1 — check out this video Modern Family‘s brand new Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet dishing SU2C’s Team Challenge initiative. And for the full lineup of previously announced telethon talent, check out the official Stand Up to Cancer web site.
