Grammy nomination prime-time special to air on CBS this December despite poor ratings

Posted on

For the precursor to next February’s 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, CBS announced that it will air The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 10p.m. ET/PT. Like last year’s special, it will feature performances from the announced nominees and past winners. This is the third year in a row they’ll be doing the Grammy nomination prime-time special. Past runs haven’t fared so well in the ratings, despite featuring top-tier talents like the Black Eyed Peas and Maxwell, who both performed last year for the special (clip embedded below). It’s certainly more fun than the early-morning Oscars-type nomination announcement, but what do you think the Grammy committee can do to draw in more viewers? Will you be watch this winter? Let us know.
