Katy Perry reveals the artwork for her new CD: It's... sweet!

Image Credit: Will CottonIn New York today, artist Will Cotton unveiled a portrait of Katy Perry which will feature on the cover of her due-out-August 24 CD Teenage Dream. Cotton’s work also inspired the video for Perry’s hit “California Gurls,” on which he acted as artistic director. Perry herself was present for the unveiling at Cotton’s Manhattan studio.

“The day I found Will Cotton, I knew I wanted to live in his cinematic cotton candy world,” the singer said in a statement. “A fantastically art-directed music video and one piece of timeless album artwork later, I can proudly say I am more than a fan.”

You can see an image of the painting above. Certainly it seems to fit in with Perry’s naughty-but-nice persona.
