He’s behind two recent smashes: B.o.B’s ”Nothin’ on You” and Travie McCoy’s ”Billionaire.” Now he’s readying his own album. ”It’s gonna be Christmas classics,” says Mars, 24. ”Kidding! It’s like [my hits], but on steroids.”
The Brooklyn-based duo’s debut, Treats, is a blitz of handclap hooks, girlish coos, and blown-speaker buzz that giddily justifies the hype. ”Joe Jonas tweeted about us,” says singer Alexis Krauss, 26, ”which was bizarre, but pretty cool.”
While still attending Duke, he signed a major-label record deal. A year later, he’s got a hit with raspy dis track ”Cooler Than Me.” ”I wrote that song in my dorm room,” says Posner, 22. Next? His debut album (out Aug. 3).
