'American Idol': We live-blogged the Crystal Bowersox-Lee DeWyze season 9 finale!

Posted on

Image Credit: Michael Becker/FoxBrace yourselves, Idoloonies! After five months, 43 episodes, and one brutal garroting of Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),” we’ve arrived at our final destination: Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre. Tonight, either Lee DeWyze or Crystal Bowersox will take home the title previously held by Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, and Kris Allen.{C} Expect performances from Christina Aguilera and Enrique Iglesias, as well as Carrie, Kris, and a duet between Kelly and ‘Tasia, plus a mashup of season 9-ers with Chicago, Joe Cocker, and Hall & Oates, among others. I’ll be live-blogging the whole shebang — from whatever hokey intro Ryan Seacrest has planned all the way to the falling confetti and tears that will greet the eventual winner. So do come and join me at 7:30 p.m. ET tonight; I’ll make an effort to pull in a smattering of reader comments, but please do not be offended if yours doesn’t make the live-feed. I’ve only got two eyes with which to watch the telecast and type my comments, and only two hands with which to work the keyboard, the remote-control, and my glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Looking forward to spending the evening together, and hoping Simon’s final two hours on the show are chock full o’ moments (like this)!
