Image Credit: Michael Becker/Fox Knock, knock. Are you there, Idoloonies? As I timidly type into this space unknown, I bring you a message from the sick bed of your Idol Lord, Michael Slezak: ”Help me. For the love of Idol, I’m dying.” And in a twist of cruel irony, our Slezak found himself on the injured list the night season 3 champ Fantasia returned to the stage for a soul-filled performance that no doubt left our remaining contestants’ mouths agape and the judges longing, as we have been, for the old days. We knew long before Songs of the Cinema week that we’d be visiting Chicago and Elliston, Ohio with Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox, respectively, for the annual home visits. But it looks like we’re also headed for Texas y’all, now that we know seat No. 3 (and probably third place) belongs to Casey James. Farewell Big Mike. We barely knew ye. Wait, I take that back.
