Image Credit: RD/Rob Kim/Retna Ltd.; Greg Peters I just got off the phone with Saturday Night Live head honcho Lorne Michaels, who was talking to me about the movie version of MacGruber (“MacGruber!”) for a forthcoming piece in the magazine. But I couldn’t let him go without asking about Betty White, who is, of course, appearing on this Saturday’s show.

As it turned out, Michaels’ reply didn’t stray too far from the subject we had been previously discussing. “They’re shooting a ‘MacGruber’ with her,” Michaels explained. “I think she plays his grandmother. You never know with a live show what’s actually going to make it on the air. But she’s just been a joy.”

I could see White fitting in nicely with Will Forte’s bomb non-disposal expert. Then again, I could imagine her playing opposite any of the show’s recurring characters. What would you like to see Betty White do on this week’s show?
