B.o.B.: The guy behind our new favorite hit

”Nothin’ on You” is an instant smash. Here’s what you need to know about the kazoo-playing Coldplay fan

Surprise star
B.o.B struggled to find a hit before scoring with sweet love song ”Nothin’ on You.” ”It’s surreal,” says the Atlanta native, 21. ”You can make a really good song and it may never make the radio. You never know what to expect.”

Eclectic collaborator
His debut album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray (out April 27), will feature guest appearances from T.I., Lupe Fiasco — and pop-punk howler Hayley Williams of Paramore. ”Vocally, she’s got pipes. Working with her was a monumental event.”

Britpop fan
B.o.B (real name: Bobby Ray Simmons) cites Coldplay as a key influence. ”Two years ago, I was going through a bumpy period in my career. [Coldplay’s 2005 song] ‘Square One’ came on, and it was like the light at the end of the tunnel.”

One-man band
In addition to rapping and singing, B.o.B is a talented guitarist and pianist, playing every instrument on album cut ”Don’t Let Me Fall.” ”Everything that I do, I feel like I got out on the song. Except my awesome kazoo-playing ability. I didn’t do that yet.”
