'The Hangover' sequel is a go, stars sign deals

Posted on

The deals for the sequel to Warner Bros.’ surprise runaway hit The Hangover are finally in place,  Mike Fleming at Deadline.com reports. The principle actors, Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, will receive approximately $5 million each, as well as a percentage of the gross, while director/producer Todd Phillips will take in a whopping $10 million. All tallied, that’s already only $9 million shy of the original’s entire budget. This comes after lengthy and heated negotiations, since none of the stars made more than $300,000 for the first film — according to Fleming — and no sequel options were signed. Filming may begin as early as October.
