Hairspray‘s Nikki Blonsky will star in ABC Family’s new series Huge, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Also cast in the new series are TV-actor offspring Hayley Hasselhoff (daughter of David) and Zander Eckhouse (son of James). The weight-loss-camp comedy/musical — described as Ugly Betty-meets-Glee and based on Sasha Paley’s book of the same name — was written by My So-Called Life creator Winnie Holzman and her daughter Savannah Dooley. Blonsky will play a camper named Will who’s the acerbic daughter of the wealthy owners of a chain of fitness centers, while Hasselhoff will play Amber, the hottest girl at camp who still thinks she’s too heavy. Eckhouse’s character is a fitness counselor and Amber’s love interest. The series is expected to premiere in late June.
