Ratings: The 'Office' baby delivers

Posted on

The ratings headlines for the day Baby Halpert was born: Fox’s American Idol was the evening’s top-rated show, CBS was the night’s most-watched network, and a special one-hour episode of NBC’s The Office was up 22 percent from its last original airing. Nine million viewers tuned in to see the birth of Pam and Jim’s (and Michael’s) daughter. Eighty-six percent of them stuck around for the time-slot premiere of Jerry Seinfeld’s The Marriage Ref. It’s 7.7 million turnout was down 46 percent from the 14.4 million who caught the sneak preview after the closing ceremony of the Olympics.
