Ratings: 'American Idol' wins Tuesday, NBC's 'Parenthood' debuts modestly

NBC’s multi-generational family drama Parenthood debuted modestly at 8.1 million total viewers, but it did beat the 10 p.m. hour’s viewership winner, CBS’ The Good Wife, in the 18-49 demographic — and Parenthood lost less than 4 percent of its audience over the hour.
