DC critics love 'Up in the Air'

The Washington, D.C., Film Critics Association seconded the National Board of Review by naming Up in the Air the Best Film of 2009. Precious, The Hurt Locker, and Inglourious Basterds also won multiple prizes from the organization. In general, the DC critics went with established frontrunners for most of their picks.
