'Daily Show''s John Oliver lands new stand-up series on Comedy Central

John Oliver will host John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, a six-episode stand-up series that premieres Jan. 8 on Comedy Central, the network announced today. Oliver—a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and a recurring guest star on the NBC comedy Community—will anchor each hourlong episode and introduce performances by four of his favorite comedians, including Janeane Garofalo, Paul F. Tompkins, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Nick Kroll, Kristen Schaal, and Brian Posehn.
