Screening firm sues over Ryan Jenkins case

Posted on

Collective Intelligence, the firm employed by VH1 to run a background check on reality show contestant Ryan Jenkins, has launched a law suit against the company to which it outsourced the job, according to the Washington Post. Before his suicide in August the Canadian Jenkins, a contestant on Megan Wants A Millionaire, was wanted by police investigating the murder of model Jasmine Fiore. Collective Intelligence says that it doesn’t conduct criminal background checks outside the US and outsourced the job to the Canadian company Staightline International, which it is now suing because the apparent murder-suicide has caused Collective Intelligence to lose business. Straightline International declined to comment to EW.
