Director David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) will executive produce the adaptation of the acclaimed British mini-series House of Cards for financier Media Rights Capital. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news. The mini-series, and political novel before that, will be adapted into a one-hour television drama with Fincher at the helm, along with Button screenwriter  Eric Roth and Sam Raimi’s producing partner Josh Donen. The MRC/Fincher adaptation will be set in the U.S., and while it will follow an American politician, it will still delve into the same themes of the mini-series: political ambition, crisis, networking and blackmail.
