Mother may reveal you-know-who this January
How I Met Your Mother turns 100 episodes old this January, and it’s marking the occasion by handing viewers the mother of all gifts: major intel about the show’s titular mama.
”There is some serious mother action in episode 100,” reveals executive producer Craig Thomas. ”It’ll be the closest Ted’s ever come [to discovering who she is]. He’s getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] go bananas with it.”
Although Thomas won’t outright confirm that Ted’s future wife will be unmasked in the ep, he hints that he and fellow executive producer Carter Bays ”are spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted’s story.”
And if that’s not enough to keep viewers entertained, the milestone episode will climax with what Thomas calls a ”big-ass musical” number headlined by the show’s resident song-and-dance man, Neil Patrick Harris. ”There will be a huge Barney story culminating in an enormous musical number that we’re going to spend way too much of Twentieth Television’s money on,” Thomas says with a laugh. ”Fans of Neil’s performance at the Emmys will enjoy the ending of the episode. It’s not a musical episode, but all of a sudden it becomes one. It’ll probably be one of the craziest things we’ve ever done.” And this show has set the crazy bar pretty high. Two words: Robin. Sparkles.
Major Dexter spoiler alert
A significant character will perish at the hands of John Lithgow’s Trinity Killer during Dexter‘s upcoming fourth season. Showtime will murder me if I even hint at who the victim is, but I think I’m safe telling you when this person is scheduled to depart: The ill-fated individual will croak during the first half of the season.
Ugly Betty heads to paradise
Betty Suarez is boldly going where she has never gone before: inside a one-piece. The cast of Ugly Betty will travel to the Bahamas next month to shoot an ep that my spy says features ”drama with a love triangle” involving Betty, Marc, and a third party I can’t name because ABC will murder me — and I’ve already got my hands full with Showtime.
New Lost episode titles revealed
Okay, Lost fans, time to update your season 6 scorecards: Sources confirm that this season’s two-hour premiere will be followed by episodes focusing on Evangeline Lilly’s Kate (”What Kate Does”) and Terry O’Quinn’s Locke (”The Substitute”). What does it all mean? No, I’m asking you — what does it mean? I have no clue.
Jenna takes a lover on 30 Rock
30 Rock boss Tina Fey reveals that Jane Krakowski’s dim-bulb Jenna will get ”into a high-profile relationship with a movie star that is arranged by their agents. We have a wonderful actor almost locked up,” teases Fey. Any hints? ”He’s very handsome and very funny.” Handsome and funny? That narrows it down to…OMG, they cast me! When do I start?
