Coldplay copyright lawsuit ends

Posted on

The Associated Press is reporting that Coldplay and guitarist Joe Satriani have apparently resolved Satriani’s lawsuit alleging the band used “substantial, original portions” of his 2004 song “If I Could Fly” in their 2008 blockbuster single “Viva la Vida.” Court records show that both sides asked a Los Angeles judge to dismiss the suit last week, but there are no further details about any possible agreement between Satriani and the band.
