Tony Gilroy’s follow-up to the far-better 2007 movie Michael Clayton, Duplicity is jazzy and slick. But it’s also way too impressed with its own cleverness. Julia Roberts and Clive Owen try for His Girl Friday rat-a-tat verbal sparks, but the time-jumping narrative structure is a cliché at this point and their chemistry only goes so far. At least Gilroy gives good commentary on the EXTRAS. B?
