Now that Where the Wild Things Arefever is really heating up thanks to the upcoming Spike Jonze film, this proof-of-concept demo from 1983seems particularly cool. Too bad John Lasseter’s career never took off.

Just kidding — he’s one of the genius forces behind the delight factory known as Pixar. I’m pumped for the Jonze film, but there’s part of me that would love to see a Pixar adaptation, too, a spooky version of Monsters Inc. if you will, which already draws, in someways, on the Maurice Sendak classic. (Exhibit A, exhibit B, the defense rests, gavel gavel.)
