As the scene-stealing star of The Hangover, Zach Galifianakis continues to weigh his film offers, entertainment writers continue to debate what his next movie should be. The Hollywood Reporter‘s Risky Biz Blog notes that his name has been tossed about with three projects — in addition to The Hangover sequel — but that he’s yet to attach himself to any of them. So, let’s help him decide. His options are said to include:
• Due Date: This comedy reportedly revolves around a stranded business executive who must hitch a ride with a slacker (Galifianakis?) during a snowstorm to get back to his pregnant wife. Hangover director Todd Phillips is attached to produce and potentially helm.
• Say Uncle: This comedy reportedly centers on a bachelor (Galifianakis?) who unexpectedly has to take care of his brother’s children when his sister-in-law goes into labor and the couple heads to the hospital solo.
• Man-Witch: This second Phillips comedy reportedly follows a grown man (Galifianakis?) who nurtures his recently discovered supernatural abilities by attending an all-girls’ witch school. Jack Black was once attached to the now vacant leading role.
Which film gets your vote? Unless the Due Date script is miraculously as funny as Planes, Trains and Automobiles, I’d pass. Say Uncle has a refreshingly simple plot on paper that I fear would get out of control on screen. Man-Witch‘s awesomely bad title immediately draws me in (like Hot Tub Time Machine). It could either be a funny 90 minutes or a Rob Schneider film. I really don’t think he should do it, and yet, I totally want him to…. Your call.
