Alice Munro has won the 2009 Man Booker International Prize. The 77 year-old Canadian writer, renowned for her short-stories about small-town life in rural Ontario, is only the third winner of the award, which has been presented every other year since 2005. Munro’s next collection of short stories, Too Much Happiness, will be published in October 2009.
