Posted on

Opening statements in a civil trial against rapper Snoop Dogg have begun today in Santa Monica, Calif., the Associated Press is reporting. A man named Robert Monroe, Jr., claims that the artist and members of his entourage beat and robbed him after he jumped onstage during a 2005 Snoop Dogg concert in Seattle. Monroe seeks $22 million in damages and penalties. Jurors have now watched a videotape of the incident in court.
