A few weeks ago, American Idol‘s season 7 standout Michael Johns stopped by the Idolatry studios (aka the cubicle area outside my office) to talk about what we can expect from his upcoming debut album, why he’s hoping to remind the Idol machine that there’s more to rock music than the Chris Daughtry sound, and how he came to collaborate with A-list songwriter Diane Warren. And when he was all done, Michael grabbed a stool and his acoustic guitar and performed a cover of the “To Love Somebody” right in the middle of our hallway. Press play below to check out our interview (with Michael’s rendition of the Bee Gees’ classic ballad streaming immediately afterward).
