Jay Leno's primetime show to air on Boston NBC affiliate

Posted on

Boston NBC affiliate WHDH has come to an agreement with NBC and will air Jay Leno’s primetime program when it begins this September. The news comes less than two weeks after the station announced it would air a local news program instead during the 10 p.m. hour, prompting a swift and stern reaction from NBC, which threatened to strip WHDH of its affiliation with the network. “Jay is from Andover where I went to school,” station owner Ed Ansin said in a statement released today. “I enjoy his humor. We hope the new show is a big success.” NBC network president John Eck also released a brief statement: “We look forward to working closely with the station on a successful launch in Boston of this show, featuring one of the most bankable stars in the business.”
