Josh Schwartz to make feature directorial debut with 'Big City'

Josh Schwartz, the producer behind NBC’s Chuck, The CW’s Gossip Girl, and Fox’s The O.C., is set to write and make his feature directorial debut with a new movie adaptation of the 1984 Jay McInerney novel Bright Lights, Big City, Variety reports. The story is about a disillusioned magazine writer who uses drugs, alcohol, andnightly carousing to deal with the mess that is his life. The novel was previously the basis of a 1988 movie starring Michael J. Fox and Kiefer Sutherland.
