Holt McCallany wins lead in FX's 'Lights Out'

Posted on

Holt McCallany, who played renowned boxing trainer Teddy Atlas in the HBO movie Tyson, will star in FX’s upcoming drama pilot Lights Out, about an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who needs another big payday to support his family before pugilistic dementia overtakes his brain for good. THR.com reports that Lights Out director Clark Johnson, who helmed episodes of The Shield and The Wire, likened McCallany’s casting to that of Michael Chiklis in The Shield. “[McCallany] could be the next Jon Hamm,” said Johnson.
