We gave it an A-

Despite all the haters, there were plenty of diehards who walked out of Watchmen itching for more. This made- for-DVD companion is for them. Based on the story-within-a-story from the graphic novel, Tales of the Black Freighter is a wonderfully eerie animated tale about a shipwrecked sailor (300‘s Gerard Butler) hunted by a galleon of ghostly buccaneers. Among the EXTRAS are Under the Hood, a 38-minute faux doc about masked ’40s crime-fighters, plus a cool motion-comic snippet of the graphic novel. In short, total nerdvana. A?
