'The Sarah Silverman Program' gets a third-season pickup

Posted on

Comedy Central ordered a 10-episode third season of The Sarah Silverman Program today after sister network, Logo, agreed to help finance the series, Reuters reports. The announcement followed a four-day standoff between the show’s producers, including Silverman herself, and Comedy Central, which wanted to cut the show’s budget by more than 20 percent. This marks the first time a show has been cofinanced by Comedy Central and Logo, which focuses on gay, lesbian, and transgendered programming. The third season of The Sarah Silverman Program is expected to premiere in early 2010.
