My first solemn wish is that they cast Mischa Barton. I’m hoping they don’t go through with this. Not because I hold that book sacred, not because the ’80s movie is a particularly excellent adaptation, not because the lesser-known sequel staring the late Jonathan Brandis is also totally acceptable, but because there are way too many other books that could make fantastic movies.
