New 'Fockers' comedy expected to film this year

Posted on

The third–and long-awaited–entry in the ultra-successful Fockers franchise is starting to kick. According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer-director John Hamburg (the upcoming I Love You, Man) has been brought aboard to write the screenplay for Little Fockers, which is expected to revolve around the offspring of Ben Stiller and Teri Polo’s married couple. Jay Roach, who directed the first two Focker films, will not return to duties this time; as one of the producers, however, he and his cohorts are currently eyeing Chris Weitz (New Moon), Peyton Reed (Yes Man), and David Wain (Role Models) to take over for Roach. Stiller, Robert DeNiro and Owen Wilson are currently in negotiations to join the film, which is expected to begin lensing by this fall.
