Ratings: 'American Idol' swoops in to steal Thursday night

Posted on

American Idol‘s final hour of pre-Hollywood auditions in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and New York City easily dominated a Thursday night mostly filled with repeats. While it fared slightly worse than Wednesday’s airing, Idol was still the clear winner. In the 9 o’clock hour, CSI came in a close second for the evening — it seems people just can’t get enough of their crime show procedurals. The premiere of Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen cooked up some decent numbers (11.1 million), right behind CSI. Private Practice lost some of its momentum from last week’s season high of 9.6 million viewers, falling to 7.7 million. But CBS’ Eleventh Hour continued to do well, coming in third place for the evening with 12.7 million viewers.
