SWAYZE HOSPITALIZED
Just days after his interview with Barbara Walters aired on 20/20, Patrick Swayze was admitted to an L.A. hospital with pneumonia on Jan. 9. The actor, who is battling pancreatic cancer, remains under observation, even as his new A&E series, The Beast, was set to premiere on Jan. 15. ”One thing I’m not gonna do is chase staying alive,” Swayze told Walters. ”You spend so much time chasing staying alive, you won’t live.” — KW
