Ratings: '24' holds up against CBS comedies, 'Bachelor' still strong

Posted on

The second night of 24‘s two-part season premiere scored a solid 12.3 million viewers, down just 300,000 viewers from the previous night, according to preliminary overnight rating, but Jack Bauer’s biggest foe may be the growing audience for CBS’ Monday night line-up: Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother both posted 11.8 million viewers, a record for Theory and second-highest numbers for HIMYM. Meanwhile, ABC’s The Bachelor held strong in its second week with 9.1 million viewers, which is actually about 400,000 more than the audience for last week’s premiere. Less promising was the Tyra Banks-Ashton Kutcher-produced True Beauty, which dropped about 1.2 million from the previous week’s debut.
