Since I just watched the trailer for I Love You, Man about five times, I think I can safely say that it is on my Must List this week (and that the movie will be on my List come March 20). Paul Rudd plays a guy who has no guy friends, and, on his fiancée’s orders, sets out to find someone to be his best man. That ”man” is Jason Segel (I use the term loosely, because when does Segel ever play someone who’s matured past his early twenties). Though the film is without the almighty hand of Judd Apatow, it’s not completely untouched by his influence (writer/director John Hamburg is a pal). I Love You, Man looks like a blend of Apatow-esque man-boy humor with a touch of absurdity from The State/Stella and Ben Stiller schools of comedy (and it’s guaranteed to be at least 85% less douchey than Brody Jenner’s new MTV show, Bromance). It’s going to be awesome.
