”Paper Planes” singer M.I.A., 31, announced she’s having her first child with fiancé Ben Brewer, of the indie band the Exit.

Lisa Marie Presley, 40, and husband Michael Lockwood, 46, added two new rock stars to their family: The couple welcomed twin daughters, named Finley and Harper, on Oct. 7. Presley has two children with ex-husband Danny Keough.

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, 30, sustained an injury to his torso when he fell off the stage during an Oct. 7 performance in Iowa City. The band subsequently rescheduled two Chicago tour dates.

On Oct. 7 in New York, record label Brookland Media filed a $2 million lawsuit against Lil’ Kim, 33, claiming the rapper has cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars by not recording tracks promised to the label. Kim’s lawyer responded, ”The business arrangement was more akin to a partnership than a recording contract, and we expect that it will be amicably resolved.”… Britney Spears, 27, rejected a plea offer on her driving-without-a-license charge stemming from an August 2007 collision in L.A. The pop star was scheduled to go to trial for the misdemeanor on Oct. 15. ”She hasn’t done anything wrong,” said Spears’ lawyer. ”She’s not going to plead to a misdemeanor, [and] she doesn’t deserve probation for a year.”… Lindsay Lohan, 22, filed a motion Oct. 8 in L.A. to keep her upcoming deposition in a case involving DJ Samantha Ronson, 30, from being videotaped. (Ronson filed a malpractice suit against her former lawyers.) The motion states that Lohan will likely be questioned about ”the details of the drugs allegedly found in [her] car and her alleged romantic relationship with Ronson…[which] will most certainly be leaked to the media and the public.”

All My Children star Eileen Herlie, 90, passed away in New York City of complications from pneumonia. She had played Myrtle Fargate on the soap opera since joining the cast in 1976…. French actor and son of Gérard Depardieu, Guillaume Depardieu, 37, died on Oct. 13 in Paris due to complications from pneumonia…. Actor Kim Chan, 94, died in Brooklyn on Oct. 5 from natural causes. Chan appeared in films like The Fifth Element and Shanghai Knights…. The ”King of Rock Steady,” Alton Ellis, 70, died in London on Oct. 11 of cancer. — with additional reporting by Stewart Allen

The Wedding Planner Weds Again
It’s been a busy year for Jennifer Lopez: The singer, 39, gave birth to twins in February, completed the Nautica Malibu Triathlon in September, and on Oct. 12 renewed her wedding vows with husband Marc Anthony, 40, at Caesars Palace’s Forum Tower Penthouse in Las Vegas. But the couple didn’t re-wed alone — Lopez and Anthony shared the spotlight with the New York Mets’ Carlos Beltran and his wife, Jessica, who also said ”I do” for a second time during the joint ceremony. Lopez and Anthony have been married since 2004. — KW
