'Reno''s finest to strut their strike stuff

Posted on

That’s right, now TV characters are getting in on the strike action. Tom Lennon and Ben Garant, better known as Lieutenant Jim Dangle and Deputy Travis Junior of Reno: 911! fame, will march in costume this morning (shorts and all) as they picket Sunset-Gower Studios, which houses the Reno production office. This show of solidarity follows the duo’s two-hour appeal on L.A. radio station Indie 103.1 on Monday, during which the fill-in hosts for Jonesy’s Jukebox (Steve Jones is out performing with the Sex Pistols) schooled listeners on everything from the issues at hand to how to make a sturdy picket sign.

Lennon reached out to friends and colleagues via email yesterday, imploring members of “SAG, DGA and anybody who supports us” to join Dangle and Junior at the Gower walk-in gate from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday. Here’s hoping, for his sake, that Tuesday’s chilly (for L.A.) weather subsides.
