The best, and worst, films about King Arthur

THE GOOD
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
What it lacks in gravitas, it makes up for in sheer lunacy. And Graham Chapman makes a dashing Arthur.
Excalibur John Boorman goes for the jugular with his bloody, lusty (Helen Mirren = hot) take on the legend.

THE BAD
First Knight
Even Sean Connery as Arthur can’t save a flick revolving around a petulant, heat-free affair between Richard Gere and Julia Ormond.
King Arthur Speaking of heat-free, this ”Dirty Dozen with swords” just sits there…even with Clive Owen.

THE UGLY
A Kid in King Arthur’s Court
Remember the least interesting dude from American Pie, Thomas Ian Nicholas? He’s the kid.
Sword of the Valiant More paycheck Connery, with Miles O’Keeffe in tow. Do you really need to hear more?
