+ Bill Murray is set to visit the City of Ember, a sci-fi film from Gil Kenan (Monster House) about a town short on sunlight and food. Says Alex Schwartz, head of production at Walden Media: ”He plays a seductive, charming, but ultimately evil villain.”

+ Ocean’s Thirteen casino mogul Andy Garcia will try his luck in City Island. ”It’s about a dysfunctional family living in City Island, New York,” says the actor, who’ll produce and star opposite Chloé Sevigny (HBO’s Big Love).

+ Pregnant Naomi Watts is planning her postbaby gigs: She’s signed on to play a South African who adopts a black child with AIDS in the drama We Are All the Same. ”I remember seeing her in Mulholland Drive and thinking, ‘Wow, she’s the best thing since sliced bread,”’ says writer Keir Pearson (Hotel Rwanda). ”She’ll bring a certain empathy to this.”
