When I saw Dreamgirls was the cover of the Holiday Movie Preview, I was psyched. The photos were sexy and stunning, but I was bothered by one thing. The inside had full-body shots of Beyoncé and Anika Noni Rose, but only a face shot of Jennifer Hudson. It was gorgeous, but why not show her in her va-va-voom glory?
Although I am not a fan of hers, I must say your cover photo of Beyoncé along with the other Dreamgirls had me crazy in love.
Why isn’t United 93 even a long shot for Best Picture (”Our Oscar Predictions”)? This is one of the most important films of the last 10 years. Yes, it was released early in the year, but so was Braveheart.

I was so excited to see that a possible Sex and the City movie is in the works (News & Notes). I have missed my fix of Carrie and Co. since the show ended. I hope Chris Noth signs up too — he was the icing on the cake.
Will’s Weighty Role
I disagree with Owen Gleiberman’s assessment of Will Ferrell’s performance in Stranger Than Fiction (Movies). There’s nothing ”boring” about playing an understated role if it’s performed with heart. The part certainly was not typical Ferrell, but I see nothing wrong with that. I’ve always been a fan of Ferrell’s, but in this movie he moved me to tears.
We misspelled author Malcolm Venville’s last name (Must List).
OBSESSIVE FAN OF THE WEEK!
Make no mistake: Dan Fraga of Audubon, N.J., loves Ultraman. Upset that we neglected to note the DVD releases of the ’60s Japanese TV series, he writes: ”Ultraman has beaten giant cockroaches and radioactive mummies, but he is again defeated by EW. I entreat you to give Ultraman the respect he is due.” Dan also not-so-subtly mentions that he has no less than four Ultraman tattoos. Ultraman…meet Ultrafan.
