EW: The YouTube parody

Posted on

91028__ew_lWe’re famous! Someone made a funny at our expense and posted it on YouTube, and after the EW staff passed it around via e-mail, we felt oddly flattered. Setting aside the understandably amateurish execution, we have to admire the clever premise of this Early Edition-inspired sketch, in which a do-gooder who mysteriously receives his copies of our magazine a week early uses his knowledge of the future to save celebrities from themselves. (I especially liked the soundtrack; any excuse to play the Velvet Underground’s ”Heroin” is a good one.) Check it out here.

By the way, since I work here, I do get EW early. Which is why I’m on my way over to Joss Whedon’s house right now to urge him NOT to cast Ashlee Simpson as Wonder Woman, before it’s too late…
